What is the deal with this?

Lets be honest. We are the truest kind of BFFs. We met at Girls' Camp 1996 in St. Lou, survived high school and 2 years as roommates at BYU. Now, we find ourselves BOTH in NYC, which rocks, and as we contemplated how we should spend quality BFF time together - the answer seemed obvious. We must beebop the boroughs in matching purple hats every Saturday morning. Holla!

Beebop ROCK!

Jill was not feeling 100% - so we nixed the walk this week. We are feeling slightly guilty and felt we should blog about this Saturday's activities even though they are not intensely New Yorky.

Sometimes, we cannot help but to feel the beat, so this morning we busted out a Guitar Hero jam session.

Instead of beebopping - we ROCKED OUT! I cannot tell a lie - we are quite the guitar heroines.

I am the most grateful for this great little invention. Finally a video game that is more excellent than Dr. Mario. I did not think it was possible - but GH is like Nintendo with a kick.

Whoop whoop to quality BFF time and another whoop for GH. We promise a walk next week - hopefully.

So I didn't really like GH until my trip to NYC last month when it was pouring rain and we ended up playing it our first night in. It was my second time playing the game. I discovered the key (for me) to doing well is to consciously zone out and not even think about what you're doing -- the rhythm just sort of takes over and your fingers know what to do.

Because I'm sure everyone cares about my GH tactics.

I was reading an article about America's best doughnut places and guess what I came across??...

New York
Doughnut Plant
379 Grand St.
(212) 505-3700

"This artisanal doughnut dealer on Manhattan’s grungy-chic Lower East Side was started in 1994 by native North Carolinian Mark Israel and has been heralded ever since by critics and foodies for its high-quality, fresh ingredients—the dough is made with spring water—and eclectic flavors like the Elvis-inspired peanut butter glazed with banana cream filling, the rose petal glazed and the coconut cream. Israel recently defeated Iron Chef Bobby Flay in a doughnut-making duel on Flay’s Food Network show Throwdown with one of my all-time favorite doughnuts, the Tres Leches—a rich and creamy cake doughnut made from evaporated, condensed and whole milk modeled after the traditional Mexican cake of the same name."
Bret Stetka is a science and medical writer who happens to be obsessed with doughnuts. He founded and operates Blognut, a blog dedicated to covering all things "donut" both stateside and abroad.

I thought of you bee-boppin' ladies and wanted to share! Keep on keepin' on!

(in case you don't know who this is, it's Rachel...Holly's sister.) :)

Not much beats Dr. Mario, but Guitar Hero comes close. But Meg, I think I could also beat you at GH!
